Images of Love

Images of Love is a collection of contemporary Catholic music that is inspired by ministry at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Los Angeles. It is a reflection of the vibrant diversity of this worship community and parishes all over California. It seeks to give a glimpse of parish life through the lens of a music minister.

This collection contains music that can be used at weekly Sunday Liturgy. There is a Mass setting included in the recording. The songs may also be sung at smaller gatherings. They are adaptable and may be performed as solo pieces, with a small group of singers or a larger choir. These pieces have been sung at liturgies and prayer services at St. Brendan Church and the melodies are easily learned and memorable. The texts are largely based on sacred Scripture: Psalms, Old and New Testament readings. Some other texts have been adapted from prayers and stories based on the lives of Saints.

one love | one song

one love | one song is a collection of songs that celebrate our love of God and neighbor. On our pilgrim journey we continually meet people with whom we share common ideas and interest, and people whose ideas are different from ours. It is in these differences that we are challenged to seek the common presence of God; it is in diversity that we are called to find unity. The Gospel calls us to conversion: we are invited to welcome the stranger among us; we are called to look beyond cultural and personal ideologies and recognize that every person is a child of God. It is in this conversion that we find communion with each other and with God. As we continue to strive to love our God and our neighbor, may we be strengthened by our common song of hope, peace and love.

one love | one song is Chris’ first recording with GIA Publications, Inc. and is available online at www.giamusic.com or at the St. Brendan Church Gift Shop.
